Moldovan PM says Moldova prepared to become strategic centre essential for Ukraine's recovery

Chisinau, 11 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has participated in the Ukraine Recovery Conference, held in Berlin, Germany. At the event, heads of state and government, representatives of international organizations and business environment reconfirmed their support for the Ukrainian side and the peace on the European continent, the government’s communication department reported.     

„Ukraine is not alone and the international community stays united in backing this country. At the same time, Moldova is prepared for assuming the active role and for becoming a strategic centre essential for the recovery of the neighbour country,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.  

The PM noted that Moldova had the second longest border with Ukraine and the authorities were developing and extending the networks of roads and railways, in order to provide more connectivity between Ukraine and the European Union. At the same time, at present, the road, railway, gas and electricity network of Moldova is fully connected with the one of Ukraine and work is currently carried out to develop the regional electricity interconnections between Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.   

Also, the Moldovan government stays focused on the creation of a friendly and predictable business environment for foreign entrepreneurs and investors.

„All these things help us edify the European Moldova, develop the economy, increase the number of well-paid jobs in the country, as well as provide better living conditions to all citizens. Now, there is the best moment to invest in Moldova and Ukraine. By investing in Moldova, you do not only support us, but also contribute to the goal of ensuring the peace and stability in the region,’’ the Moldovan prime minister added.
