Moldovan government approves plans on admission to higher education, with financing from state budget for 2024-2025 academic year

Chisinau, 21 June /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 8,697 people will be admitted to the higher education institutions of Moldova, with financing from the state budget.  The cabinet of ministers has approved the plans on admission to the higher education for the 2024-2025 academic year, which meet the needs of the labour market inclusively, the government’s communication department reported.  

Most places with financing from the state budget will be provided for the fields: sciences of education, engineering, information and communications technologies, medicine and agriculture.     

A number of 5,307 people will be admitted to the degree and integrated higher education, at 25 general sectors of education. About 25 per cent of the places will belong to the field of sciences of education and social assistance, given that 2,041 jobs are vacant in this sector at present.        

It is worth mentioning that 215 places at the education with attendance in the pedagogy sector will be directed to the low attendance education. They will be occupied, as priority, by graduates of pedagogical colleges, who will bring the proof of employment in public education institutions. The goal of this provision is to provide the general education with teachers, as well as to improve their professional qualification.   

At the same time, the plan on admission to the multimedia production, design of animation games was increased by 11 places with financing from the budget. Five additional places are planned for veterinary medicine, 8 – for technologies of fabrication and processing, 9 places - for architecture and constructions.  

As many as 2,864 people will be admitted to the higher master education and 420 places are envisaged for residency education. A number of 106 places with financing from the state budget are provided for the admission of foreigners to the higher education, of which 76 – the degree education and 30 – master education.
