Maia Sandu registered as candidate for office of Moldova's president

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today approved the registration of Maia Sandu as candidate for the office of Moldova’s president. She was nominated by the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS).
Also, CEC registered the electoral symbol of the candidate for being printed on the ballot paper at the presidential elections and confirmed the person in charge of the finances.
The signatures collected by the initiative group to support the candidate were submitted to CEC on 6 September.
Maia Sandu is the second candidate registered in the presidential race. The first one is Alexandr Stoianoglo, nominated by the Moldovan Party of Socialists.
The elections for the office of Moldova’s president will be held on 20 October 2024. The republican constitutional referendum will be organized on the same day. The citizens will have to answer the question: ‘’Do you support the amendment of the Constitution for Moldova’s accession to the European Union?’’
