New Intensive Therapy Section inaugurated at Chisinau-based Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital

Chisinau, 24 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Septic Surgery Intensive Therapy Section today was inaugurated at the Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital, following capital repair. The cost of the project on renovation and endowment with the last generation equipment was about 25 million lei.    

According to the Health Ministry, the section will work on 10 beds and will provide medical assistance to the most seriously ill patients from all over Moldova, who will benefit from medical care, including after surgical interventions and in case of various septic pathologies, such as purulent infections, septic pneumonia, open wounds, otitis, gangrenes, etc. To diminish the risk of infections’ transmission, the section has boxes with separate beds for patients in need of isolation and special medical care, as well as a dressing room.     

The capital repair of the Septic Surgery Intensive Therapy Section was carried out within the World Bank’s Emergency Response to COVID-19 in Moldova project, managed by the Health Ministry.   

In the last two years, the Health Ministry has invested about 40 million lei, both from its own sources and with foreign partners’ support, for the modernization of the infrastructure of the Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital and the endowment with highly advanced medical devices.
