Moldovan president has meeting with Ambassador of Ukraine at end of mandate

Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has had a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova Marko Shevchenko, who ends his diplomatic mandate in the country, the presidential press service reported.

The Moldovan president highly appreciated the close relations between the two countries, stressing the importance of continuing the cooperation for maintaining the stability in the region. The head of state also thanked the Ukrainian nation for its resistance, which contributes to the maintenance of peace in Moldova.

President Sandu also highlighted the importance of the advancement of Moldova and Ukraine on the path of integration into the European Union, as this road is the only way of guaranteeing the peace and prosperity of the citizens from the two countries.
