First Home Plus: Government extends accessibility of program, offers more advantageous conditions for buying homes

Chisinau, July 17 /MOLDPRES/- Government today approved legislative amendments that will ensure the implementation of First Home Plus program. Thus, the accessibility of the program will be extended and more advantageous conditions will be offered for buying houses, the government's communication department has reported.
The program will also be available for people who are not employed in the Republic of Moldova, such as freelancers, lawyers, bailiffs, mediators, taxi drivers, artists. At the same time, the maximum amount of housing that can be purchased was increased from 1 million lei to 2.5 million lei. The maximum loan period increased from 25 to 30 years.
The guarantee rate for loans requested for housing outside Chisinau municipality will increase from 50% to 65% or 70%, depending on the locality, thus facilitating access to decent housing for families in rural areas and supporting regional development.
At the same time, those who are already beneficiaries of the program will be able to change their bank and negotiate more advantageous conditions. People who have a home of up to 50 square meters will be able to participate in the program repeatedly to buy a larger home.
The amendments will also simplify a number of procedures: it will no longer be necessary to present certificates issued by the Public Service Agency for the homes owned. It will also rule out mortgaging housing in favor of the state and the need to conclude trilateral mortgage contracts.
