EU official says Moldova's ambitious reforms led to launch of negotiations on accession to European Union

Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - European Commission’s Vice President Josep Borrell today had a meeting with President Maia Sandu at the Summit of the European Political Community (EPC). The European official congratulated the Moldovan head of state ‘’on Moldova’s ambitious reforms, which led to the launch of the negotiations on accession to the European Union.’’
„Through our Security and Defence Partnership, we will continue backing the resistance of Moldova to the impact of Russia’s war and its more and more intense hybrid actions,’’ Josep Borrell underlined on a social network.
The fourth meeting of the European Political Community (EPC) today is held at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, the United Kingdom. At the event, the head of state will have meetings with more European presidents and prime ministers, with whom she will discuss the peace and security of Moldova, the economic development and the European integration.
The European Political Community represents a key platform of discussions between the European countries about peace and security on the European continent, as well as other common problems. Moldova hosted the second EPC summon on 1 June 2023.
