Unity in Diversity title of 23rd edition of Festival of Ethnic Minorities, due in centre of Chisinau on 15 September

Chisinau, 5 September /MOLDPRES/ - The 23rd edition of the Festival of Ethnic Minorities will be held in the Stefan cel Mare Public Garden from the centre of Chisinau on 15 September. The event will be titled, Unity bin Diversity - the holiday of multiculturalism and inter-ethnic tolerance.
Thus, visitors will be able to know the cultures of the ethnic communities from Moldova. The event’s agenda includes presentations of the national costumes, traditional dances, topic-related exhibitions, possibilities of multicultural dialogue and gastronomic diversity.
The festival will start at 10:00 with a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Stephen the Great from the capital and a parade of national costume, followed by a visit to the Adorned Room - symbol of the Moldovan traditional culture. The festival will be officially inaugurated at 11:00.
During the day, the guests of Chisinau and people interested in the cultural diversity will be able to visit 30 ethnic yards, which will present the specific character and the ethno-cultural values, a fair and exhibition of workmanship objects, master-classes from the gastronomic area, where skillful cooks will unveil a variety of culinary delights of various ethnic groups.
The festival is organized by the Interethnic Relations Agency and the Chisinau city hall, in partnership with the Coordinating Council of the ethnic and cultural organizations. The event’s goal is to turn to good account and perpetuate the traditions of the ethnic communities, as well as to develop the intercultural dialogue, consolidate the friendship relations between representatives of different ethnic minorities who live in Moldova.
