US Embassy in Chisinau congratulates Maia Sandu

Chisinau, Dec 24 /MOLDPRES/- The Embassy of the United States of America in Chisinau today congratulated Maia Sandu on swearing in as President of the Republic of Moldova.

In a message published on a social network, the diplomatic mission noted that the US will continue to be a reliable partner for the Republic of Moldova.

"We extend our sincere congratulations to President Maia Sandu on her historic second inauguration. The United States will continue to be a reliable partner for the Republic of Moldova in the years to come. We look forward to working closely with Maia Sandu's administration to advance our shared priorities and ensure a more democratic, secure, and prosperous future for the Republic of Moldova," the US Embassy emphasized.

Maia Sandu was sworn in as President of the Republic of Moldova and took office today. The ceremony took place at the Palace of the Republic.

She became the first people-elected president to win two terms in office.

The term of office of the President of the Republic of Moldova is four years, starting from the date of swearing in.
