Ceremony of Maia Sandu's swearing in office of Moldova's President takes place in Chisinau; event's agenda

Chisinau, 24 December /MOLDPRES/ - The ceremony of Maia Sandu’s swearing in the office of Moldova’s President takes place at the headquarters of the Chisinau-based Palace of the Republic today starting from 10:30.
According to Moldova’s Constitution, the oath is taken before the Parliament and the Constitutional Court 45 days following the elections at the latest. The mandate of Moldova’s President lasts four years and is exercised starting from the date of taking the oath.
At the runoff presidential elections from 3 November this year, Maia Sandu got 930,139 votes, while her counter-candidate, Alexandr Stoianoglo – 750,430 votes. Thus, Maia Sandu will become the first president elected by the people who managed to get two mandates.
The Constitutional Court confirmed the results of the presidential elections and validated the mandate of Moldova’s president got by Maia Sandu on 28 November 2024.
