Moldovan president, Hungarian foreign affairs minister discuss Moldova's European integration path

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó, on a visit to Chisinau, the presidential pres service has reported.
The discussions were focused on Moldova’s accession to the European Union, in the context of Hungary holding the rotating Presidency of the Council of EU. The head of state welcomed Hungary’s support for this goal.
Special emphasis was put on the boosting of the economic cooperation between the two states. President Maia Sandu highlighted the opportunities of investments in Moldova, stressing the economic reforms underway, meant to create a friendly business environment and to attract new investments.
The discussions tackled also aspects regarding the regional security. The head of state stressed the importance of the close cooperation with the European partners, including Hungary, in order to ensure Moldova’s stability and security, as well as to strengthen the country’s resilience.
