Deputy Prime Minister on visit to Brussels

Chisinau, Sep 16 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) Vladimir Bolea is on a working visit to Brussels on September 15-16, 2024. He is due to meet with senior European officials. The official will meet with Adrienn Kiraly, Director for Neighbourhood East and Institution Building at the European Commission and Janusz Wojciechowski, European Commissioner for Agriculture.
The discussions will focus on strengthening relations between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, in particular on the situation in agriculture in 2024, cooperation in agriculture and rural development.
On 15 September, Bolea participated in the Romanian + Moldavian & Ukrainian Street Food & Dance Festival, the first major event celebrating the gastronomy and folklore of three Eastern European countries: Romania, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. "The festival provided an authentic celebratory atmosphere for the diaspora, with traditional dishes, folk dances and songs, as well as exhibitions of folk costumes and local products, reflecting the cultural richness of the three countries," MAIA points out.
During the event, Bolea had the opportunity to discuss with members of the Moldovan diaspora in Brussels the importance of preserving and promoting Moldovan traditions and customs, both in local communities and abroad. He emphasized the essential role of Moldovans in the diaspora in preserving and transmitting these traditions, as they are true ambassadors of national culture in the countries where they live.
