Electoral period starts for new local polls due in Moldova on 17 November 2024

Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission  (CEC) has informed that the electoral period for the local polls, due on 17 November 2024, started today.    

According to CEC, on the electoral period, the main actions consist in the creation and organization of the work of the lower electoral bodies, registration of candidates for the mayor office, setting up and organization of polling stations, updating and publication of the electoral, lists, informing the voters and training of electoral civil servants, monitoring of the elections and their coverage in mass media, organization of the voting and tabulation of the ballot’s results.   

Under the legal provisions, the electoral period will end with the confirmation of the results of the elections and validation of the mayor mandates.  

On 17 November 2024, new local elections for the position of mayor will take place in seven settlements: the city of Causeni, Iliciovca commune, Floresti district, Boscana commune, Criuleni district, Arionesti village, Donduseni district, Antonesti commune, Cantemir district, Clocusna village, Ocnita district and Popestii de Jos village, Drochia district.
