One more initiative group for backing candidate for Moldovan president's office submits documents to electoral body

Chisinau, 18 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today received the documents and the subscription lists for the support of a candidate for the office of Moldova’s president and an application on registration as participant in the republican constitutional referendum, due on 20 October 2024.   

According to CEC, the subscription lists were submitted by the initiative group for backing Andrei Nastase, nominated by a group of citizens. In accordance with the legal provisions, CEC, during seven days at the most, will verify the documents and the subscription lists submitted and will issue a decision on the registration or refusing to register the candidate.    

The application on the registration as participant in the republican constitutional referendum was submitted by the We Build Europe at Home Political Party (PACE), with the option YES.

So far, CEC has registered another nine political formations as participants in the republican constitutional referendum due on 20 October 2024.   

The political parties and the electoral blocs can submit the application on registration as participant in the referendum till 20 September 2024.
