Electoral body registers last three candidates for Moldovan president's office nominated

Chisinau, 24 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) closes the list of candidates for the presidential elections, due on 20 October. CEC registered the last three candidates today.
It is about: Victoria Furtuna, Natalia Morari and Tudor Ulianovschi. The three candidates were nominated by a group of citizens.
Also, CEC registered the electoral symbols of the candidates for being printed on the ballot paper at the presidential elections, the candidates’ representatives in the Central Electoral Commission and confirmed the people in charge of finances (treasurers).
At the same time, CEC turned down the application on the registration of Igor Munteanu, nominated by the Political Party Coalition for Unity and Well-being, for reasons that the legal provisions on the conditions of validity, which regard the minimal needed number of supporters’ signatures, were not observed.
CEC has earlier registered another eight candidates for the presidential race. It is about Alexandr Stoianoglo, nominated by the Moldovan Party of Socialists, Maia Sandu, candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party, Renato Usatii, nominated by Our Party, Vasile Tarlev, nominated by the Party for Moldova’s Future. Other candidates registered are Ion Chicu, nominated by the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova and Irina Vlah, nominated by a group of citizens. They are followed by Andrei Nastase, nominated by a group of citizens and Octavian Ticu – TOGETHER Electoral Bloc.
Thus, the names of 11 candidates will be put down on ballot paper at the elections for the Moldovan president’s office. The people registered by CEC can start the electoral campaign for the electoral elections.
