Moldovan PM has meeting with local authorities from Donduseni district

Chisinau, 3 October /MOLDPRES/ - The need of the cooperation between the local and central public authorities for the development of projects which improve the citizens’ living conditions has been emphasized at a meeting of Prime Minister Dorin Recean with representatives of the local public authorities from the northern Donduseni district, the government’s communication department reported.    

The prime minister reiterated that Moldova’s strategic goal was the integration into the European Union and urged the local authorities to benefit from the opportunities provided by the government for the regional development and the country’s transformation. In the context, the PM referred to the European Village programme, highlighting the projects carried out in Donduseni – extending the access to quality services in the health and education sectors, modernization of the transport infrastructure, facilitating the access to water and sewerage and the rehabilitation of the street illumination.  

„These are just some concrete examples of projects which we implement in the Donduseni district, as well as all over the country, in order to have modern villages and cities, which are to provide more opportunities of development to citizens. In order to make sure that we modernize Moldova, I encourage all mayors to be active and carry out projects which directly meet the local needs,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.   

The discussions were focused on the importance of increasing the investments in the local and regional road infrastructure, the planning of the extension of the primary centre of cerebral vascular accident (CVA) from 12 to 35, as well as the increase in the number of ambulances. This year, the Donduseni district received two new ambulances. The mayors also tackled subjects on the incomes locally and cross-border projects.
