BRINGING EUROPE HOME: Four buildings of Moldova's historic cultural heritage on both banks of Dniester to be restored with EU support

Chisinau, Oct 8 /MOLDPRES/- A bell-tower, a synagogue and the facades of a historic building and a monastery - these are the four buildings on both banks of the Dniester River that will be restored and preserved with the support of the Confidence Building Measures program, financed by the European Union and implemented by UNDP Moldova.
Therefore, restoration and conservation works will be carried out at the following sites: the Monastery Rupestră in the village of Țâpova, Rezina district; the Bell Tower in the village of Vadul lui Rșcov, Soldănești district.
Rascov Synagogue will be in its second stage of conservation and restoration, the first stage having been successfully carried out thanks to the support of the European Union and UNDP.
The estimated budget for each objective is around €72,000.
The restoration and conservation of cultural heritage is part of the Confidence Building Measures program, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP. Previously, with the support of the EU and UNDP, 12 cultural-historical sites on both banks of the Dniester were restored and preserved.
The program contributes to building trust between people on both sides of the Dniester by involving them in joint development projects.
