Siegfried Mureșan - European Parliament's new co-rapporteur on Growth Plan for Moldova

Chisinau, Oct 15 /MOLDPRES/- MEP Siegfried Mureșan was appointed today as European Parliament's co-rapporteur on €1.8 billion Growth Plan for Moldova.

He said he will work to adopt the European legislation of the plan as soon as possible so that the money reaches Moldova quickly.

"It is very important to adopt the support package in good conditions for the Republic of Moldova, taking into account the situation in the country and its development needs. Last but not least, I want to make sure that the EU provides Moldova with adequate technical support to be able to absorb these funds," Mureșan said.

The MEP noted that the support package, which was announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen last week in Chisinau extends over three years and will finance investments in hospitals, roads, bridges across the Prut, as well as in other areas that will lead to the modernization of the Republic of Moldova, the increase of the living standards of the people and the preparation of the country for EU membership.
