Chisinau, Nov. 11 /MOLDPRES/- Andrei Spînu announced this morning that he is stepping down from the government and the Action and Solidarity Party.
The head of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development thanked his employees and colleagues and said he "hopes that this step will allow a return to discussions in the public space about Moldova and less to talk about one man or another."
"In recent years, I have taken on complicated responsibilities for our country to succeed. Now, more than ever, I know that Moldova has moved in the right direction. We are no longer being blackmailed with energy resources, infrastructure (roads, bridges, aqueducts) is being built more than ever, and our localities are receiving much-needed funds for development through the European Village Program," Spînu wrote.
He said "he was subjected to a smear campaign". "My heart is at peace. As of today, I withdraw from the Moldovan government and the Action and Solidarity Party. I hope that this step will make it possible to return to discussing Moldova in the public space and less to discussing one man or another, as the enemies of our country want. There is much to be done, but justice remains the zero priority. As long as false topics are discussed in the public space, organized criminal groups, the corrupt and those who represent the foreign interests of other states will carry out their plans. We saw it in this fall's elections," the official concluded.
Andrei Spînu was appointed Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development in July 2023.
