Charge d'affaires of Embassy of Georgia summoned at Moldova's Foreign Affairs Ministry

Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/ - Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of Georgia in Moldova David Bochorishvili today was summoned at the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE).    

According to the MAE’s press service, the diplomat was summoned, given a string of statements concerning Moldova, made by Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, on the sidelines of the Summit of the European Political Community (EPC), held in Budapest.    

According to the quoted source, the charge’ d’affairs was handed ‘’the deep discontent of the Moldovan side on the distorted and non-conforming way the Georgian PM approaches, in his public speech, the subjects of Moldova’s European integration and of the electoral process from our country.’’  

„We would like to note that the relations of traditional cooperation and friendship between Moldova and Georgia, as well as the objectives each of our countries have in the process of European integration must prevail,’’ reads a press release issued by MAE.   

At the EPC Summit in Budapest, the prime minister of Georgia said that only about 45 per cent of the Moldovans back the accession to the European Union. He also said that it would be ‘’a different attitude’’ towards Moldova and Georgia on behalf of the European Union.
