President of Action and Solidarity Party says crime rings from Russia try to destabilize Moldova

Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/ - The results of the presidential elections and of the constitutional referendum on Moldova’s accession to the European Union have been analyzed at the National Political Council of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), at rule.   

PAS concluded that it had been an unprecedented electoral campaign, with the interference of forces from abroad. ‘’This was an unprecedented campaign, with the involvement of hostile forces from abroad and of crime rings in the electoral processes. We will have to work even more in the fight against the political and electoral corruption, so that the citizens decide in our country, not the dirty money. We talked about the success, failures, as well as how we can improve the communication with the people, so that our messages reach each home from Moldova, as well as those who left abroad,’’ PAS leader Igor Grosu wrote on this Facebook account.    

A special subject was the political situation in Moldova and the priorities for the 2025 year. ‘’The crime rings through which Russia tries to destabilize Moldova fully use the social networks and the propaganda, in order to weaken us, in order to attack the democracy and influence the parliamentary elections due in 2025. Therefore, together, we will have to work even more for the European future of Moldova,’’ Grosu also said.   

At the same time, the PAS leader offered thanks to the teams which had worked along with volunteers, activists and supporters of the political formation. ‘’Our unity is our weapon. Only united, with the political forces and the citizens who believe in the European future of Moldova, we will manage to move Moldova forward,’’ Igor Grosu stressed.

On 20 October, presidential elections and a republican constitutional referendum on the accession to the European Union took place in Moldova. Maia Sandu, backed by PAS was reelected to the office of Moldova’s president. She was voted by 55.41 per cent of the electors who participated in the ballot. The Moldovan citizens spoke out for Moldova’s European integration. At the referendum, 50.38 per cent of the voters said YES to the amendment of the Constitution for Moldova’s accession to EU; the difference between the YES and NO option is of only 11,400 votes.
