Parliamentary elections in Romania // About 63,000 Romanians citizens vote in Moldova by 17:00

Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovans are among the most active voters at the parliamentary elections held in Romania. According to the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania (AEP), about 63,000 people voted in Moldova by 17:00.
The share of women and men who participated in the ballot is almost equal. Over 32,000 voters were women and about 31,000 were men, according to AEP’s data.
A number of 428,916 citizens voted in Romania’s Diaspora at the parliamentary elections today by 15:00, according to data provided by the Permanent Electoral Authority in real time, Agerpres reports.
According to AEP, since the opening of the polling stations, i.e. since 30 November at 07:00, till today at 15:00, 424,573 Romanian citizens voted and 4,343 electors voted by correspondence. As many as 428,916 votes were cast abroad.
Most Romanians voted in Italy – 74,750, United Kingdom – 65,529, Germany – 65,426, Spain – 55,282, Moldova – 51,140.
Also, 22,091 Romanians voted in France, 19,761 – in Belgium and 13,777 – in Austria. The mobile ballot boxes are not used for the voting abroad.
By this hour, the voter turnout stood at 42.19 per cent at the parliamentary elections in Romania. As many as 7,598,635 electors voted in Romania and abroad.
The parliamentary elections from 2024 will establish the next composition of the parliament. As many as 332 members of the Chamber of Deputies and 137 senators will be elected. Over 6,330 people run for an office of deputy or senator on behalf of 31 parties and 19 organizations of national minorities. Eighteen formations and two independents run for positions in the new legislative body on behalf of the Diaspora.
