Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - Seventy five per cent of the residents of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauz-Yeri (UTA Gagauz-Yeri) believe that Russia is the principal trade partner of the region, according to more opinion polls. Or, the things are different and the entrepreneurs from the region feel the benefits of the integration into the European Union. Deputy Prime Minister, Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba has made statements to this effect.
„ Seventy five per cent of the residents of Gagauzia believe that Russia is the principal commercial partner of the region. More opinion polls tell us about this. This is what people believe, influenced by the propaganda. On the other hand, the companies registered in the region export only 2 per cent to Russia and 49 per cent to the European Union. These are real figures. Such a big difference can be between the perception and the reality,’’ Alaiba noted.
According to the official, the entrepreneurs from the region feel the benefits of the integration into the European Union. The fate of their business depends on the way they will manage to explain this to their employees too.
„Even if we are a small country, we have a huge potential. We have what to show to the world! Therefore, we focus on the creation of a friendly business environment: less bureaucracy, digitalized public services, advantageous taxes, a well-paid and trained labour force; as well as support programmes for all entrepreneurs. Everything in order to stimulate the growth of the business, of jobs and the economy. Along with the European Union, Moldova becomes stronger and more prosperous – a country where each citizen has the surety of a better living,’’ Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba added.
