Amendments to salary law: Pay for several budget sector employees to increase

Chisinau, Dec. 4 /MOLDPRES/- Government today approved amendments to the law on unitary salary system in the budgetary sector. The amendments aim to increase and standardize the salary level for several categories of employees in the budgetary sector, the government's communication department has reported.
In particular, the draft law provides for amendments to the rules applicable to the Republican Center for Psychopedagogical Assistance, in order to increase the salaries of the institution's employees. Also, in order to ensure a competitive salary level, the management and teaching staff who have the right to carry out additional teaching activity are to be remunerated in proportion to the established norm.
Higher salaries will also be paid to employees of the State Inspectorate for Supervision of Non-Food Products and Consumer Protection, the Ombudsman Office and the Agency for Digitization in Justice and Judicial Administration. To this end, the pay grades for these civil servants will be increased. The salary level will also be increased for the position of "veterinarian" at the National Agency for Food Safety.
The minimum wage in the budgetary sector, as of January 1, 2025, is set at 5,500 lei, the same as in the real sector. The bill is to enter into force on January 1, 2025.
