Floreşti gymnasium energetically rehabilitated thanks to National Center for Sustainable Energy

Chisinau, Dec. 5 /MOLDPRES/- The secondary school building in the village of Cunicea, Florești district, has benefited from a comprehensive energy rehabilitation, carried out with the support of the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED), providing better conditions for studying and a comfortable environment for children.
As part of the project, the windows and doors of the educational institution were replaced with thermopane ones, as well as the external thermal insulation of the walls with a total area of about 3,000 square meters was carried out.
"The volume of natural gas consumption of the gymnasium's heating, according to estimates, can be reduced by 760 thousand kWh or 539,475 lei per year. The total budget of the project amounted to 3.878 million lei, of which the contribution of the municipality amounted to almost 970 thousand lei, while CNED allocated more than 2.9 million lei," explains CNED.
In addition to these works, the Center has provided appropriate technical assistance through the elaboration of the cost estimate, technical expertise and works supervision.
This project is part of CNED's actions to support the transition towards more efficient and sustainable energy consumption, thus contributing to the protection of the environment and increased energy security in the Republic of Moldova.
The National Centre for Sustainable Energy is the public institution subordinated to the Ministry of Energy, which has the mission of coordinating and organizing activities aimed at ensuring the implementation of state policy in the assigned areas of activity. This includes attracting and managing financial resources to finance and promote projects and programs in the respective areas in an environmentally and climate change sustainable manner that contributes to increasing the country's energy security.
