Moldovan PM has dialogue with representatives of United Nation agency's mission

Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/ - The priorities of the new Country Programme with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and ways of enhancing the competitiveness of the native industry today were discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and the UNIDO mission, on a visit to Chisinau, the government’s communication department has reported.
The dialogue referred to the principal measures which will be included in the new Country Programme, meant to increase the productivity and competitiveness of the industry, to encourage the innovation and catalyze the integration on the European market and in the global value chains, so that as many jobs as possible are created.
The interlocutors stressed the importance of the assistance provided by the foreign partners in the national framework of strategic development, so that its impact is as big as possible and consolidates the economic resilience of the state. The sides also discussed the present regional crisis and the development of the connection of the energy and digital infrastructure.
During the visit to Moldova, the UNIDO experts will meet representatives of ministries, other international partners and companies from the key sectors of the industry. The consultations will contribute to the assessment of the present situation and to the identification of the priorities of assistance.
The country programme implemented by Moldova and UNIDO during 2019-2024 was focused on the enhancement of the industrial competitiveness and promotion of investments; development of the entrepreneurship and of the rural communities; sustainable energy and management of the environment. Presently, four projects are carried out in these fields in Moldova, with an overall budget of over 5.5 million dollars.
