Chisinau, Dec. 6 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova reaffirmed its commitment to regional peace and security at the OSCE Ministerial Meeting in Malta. Our country's delegation was led by Foreign Ministry State Secretary Valeriu Mija, who reaffirmed Chisinau's commitment to support efforts to strengthen OSCE's role in the current security context and reiterated the condemnation in the strongest terms of Russia's unjustified military aggression against Ukraine.
At the 31st annual meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council taking place on 5-6 December in Valletta, Valeriu Mija emphasized the need to settle the Transnistrian conflict by peaceful means, while respecting Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also insisted on the withdrawal of Russian troops illegally stationed on the territory of our country and the evacuation and destruction of munitions, in line with OSCE commitments undertaken at the 1999 Istanbul Summit and the 2018 UN General Assembly Resolution 72/282.
For the third year in a row, the OSCE Ministerial Meeting is being held against the backdrop of Russian military aggression against Ukraine.
