Moldova's Superior Council of Magistracy announces contest for selecting civil society's representative in disciplinary College of judges

Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) has announced contest for the selection of civil society’s representative in the disciplinary College of judges. The people interested can submit files till 30 December 2024.
According to the quoted source, the contest for selection includes two stages: assessment of the files and the interview.
The following people have right to run for the position of member in the disciplinary College of judges: have irreproachable reputation; enjoy authority in the society; have experience in the law field of at least seven years; have degree diploma; hold Moldova’s citizenship; are not members of the Superior Council of Magistracy or of its college.
The candidates are to personally submit the file on participation in the contest to the headquarters of the Justice Ministry. The file includes: CV, copy of the identity card; copy of the higher education diploma; copy of the employment record book; letter of recommendation; criminal record; certificate of health (Form 086/e and the psychiatric evaluation); declaration of integrity; agreement for the processing of the personal data.
The disciplinary College has 10 members, with a four-year mandate, of whom five judges (two judges at the Supreme Court of Justice, two judges from the courts of appeal and one judge from courts), as well as five titular professors. The disciplinary College has the goal to consider the cases as regards the disciplinary liability of judges. Among the powers of the members of the disciplinary College, there is the examination of cases concerning the disciplinary liability of judges and the settlement of cases on cancellation of the disciplinary punishment before term.
