Moldovan president pays working visit to Brussels to have meetings with new leadership of European institutions

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 10-11 December will pay a working visit to Brussels, in order to meet the new leadership of the European institutions.
According to the presidential press service, the head of state will have meetings with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas. The visit shows Moldova’s renewed commitment to advance on the way of accession to the European Union and to improve the living standards of the citizens through a close cooperation with the European partners.
President Maia Sandu will discuss the integration of Moldova’s economy into the single European market, attraction of investments, financing of infrastructure projects and backing the small- and medium-sized enterprises, in order to create well-paid jobs and improve the people’s living.
The agenda also includes the continuation of the reforms in justice, combating corruption and consolidation of the rule of law state. President Maia Sandu will also put emphasis on the energy security and providing of stable energy sources for all residents. During the visit, the head of state also has planned a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The officials will tackle the Moldova-NATO relations – a partnership of 30 years, as well as aspects concerning the regional security.
