PHOTO Molecular Medicine Centre, Personalized Medicine Centre inaugurated at Nicolae Testemitanu Medical University of Moldova

Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Molecular Medicine Centre and the Personalized Medicine Centre were inaugurated at the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) today. These scientific subdivisions were set up following the implementation of the subproject, Strengthening of education through research in medicine at Nicolae Testemitanu USMF (FORCE Med).
The subproject’s goal is to improve the USMF’s curriculum and infrastructure, in order to widely enforce the concept of education through research at the University, to improve the quality of educating specialists for the national health system and other states, in line with the international educational standards and the current requirements of the labour force market.
At the opening of the event, USMF Rector Emil Ceban stressed that the University’s strategic goal was to promote and implement the principle of education through research.
„Our goal is to enhance the level of training of medical specialists. Thus, emphasis is put on the curricular reform of the syllabi, which were updated and improved. The syllabi were assessed by experts, who came up with proposals of improvements, in order to enhance the young people’s performance. Also, the strengthening of the research infrastructure stays an important objective, so that the students can carry out investigations from the simplest to the most complex ones. We have modern conditions of education through research and we thank a lot for this success our partners, who contribute to the development of the higher medical education,’’ Emil Ceban said.
Or her part, the state secretary at the Education and Research Ministry, Adriana Cazacu, noted that this project had allowed making investments in USMF’s infrastructure.
The subproject, FORCE_Med, is part of the project, Higher Education in Moldova, implemented by the Education and Research Ministry of Moldova during 2020-2025, with the World Bank’s financial support. The value of the grant provided is 2 million and 150,000 euros, for the period 23 October 2022-31 December 2024.
