Moldovagaz fully completed purchase of natural gas for right bank of Dniester needed for whole heating season

Chisinau, Dec. 13 /MOLDPRES/- Moldovagaz company announces that it has 100% completed the purchase of natural gas volumes needed for the entire heating season October 2024-March 2025 for the right bank of the Dniester.

According to the company, the procurement procedure was initiated in July this year and concluded on December 12, 2025. "A total of 7,952,196 MWh of natural gas, or an estimated 747.9 million m3 is being procured. The weighted average procurement price is EUR 47.88/MWh, which is about EUR 509.15/1000 m3, or about MDL 9,842.89/1000 m3, with delivery up to the Virtual Transition Point (PVT) of the Republic of Moldova," Moldovagaz says.

The basic quantity of gas in the amount of 7,443,773 MWh (about 700.1 million m3) was purchased on Romanian Commodities Exchange in the period from August to December 2024, including on GasForward market (31 transactions) 7 184 259 MWh (about 675.6 million m3); on SPOT market 259,514 MWh (about 24.5 million m3).

The remaining 508,423 MWh (about 47.8 million m3) of natural gas is procured from Energocom, on the basis of Government Decision No. 365/2024 on the approval of the natural gas storage obligation.
