Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - Twenty entrepreneurs from the Security Zone and the left bank of Dniester will launch or develop businesses due to the financial support provided by the European Union through Confidence Building Measures programme, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).     

The financial assistance provided is worth over 546,000 dollars in all. The entrepreneurs selected by contest will benefit from equipment, services, expertise, training and mentorship. ‘’Thus, they will contribute to the economic development of the region and to creation of new opportunities of employment. The businesses selected cover a wide range of fields, such as: nourishment, agriculture and breeding of animals, educational services, industrial goods (textiles), HoReCa, entertainment services, etc.,’’ UNDP said,     

The support of entrepreneurs beginners and of the business environment is part of a more ample effort of the European Union and UNDP to consolidate the confidence and promote the economic development on both banks of Dniester.  

Since the 2014 year, the EU’s Confidence Building Measures programme, implemented by UNDP, has backed the development and enhancement of the competitiveness of more than 70 small- and medium-sized enterprises from both banks of Dniester.
