First edition of Researchers' Gala held in Moldova//32 scientists awarded prizes

Chisinau, 18 December /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 32 researchers, who in 2024 got outstanding results in their scientific work, were awarded official distinctions at the first edition of the Gala of Researchers, held in Chisinau today.
Thus, three researchers received the Moldovan Government’s Diploma and 29 ones were awarded the Diploma of the Education and Research Ministry, as a token of high gratitude for their prodigious contributions in the research and innovation fields.
The first edition of the Researchers’ Gala brought together researchers from Moldova, representatives of public authorities, development partners, officials and special guests. The event, organized by the Education and Research Ministry, is dedicated to the recognizing of the excellence in the research and innovation sector.
„Today, more than ever, Moldova needs researchers. Before the global challenges, from climate crises to quick technological transformations, we are aware that our future depends on the capacity to innovate and find sustainable solutions. Therefore, it is our responsibility, as society, to support the research and those who work in this field. Through investments in the research infrastructure, through policies which are to stimulate the excellence and through the recognition of researchers’ value, we can build together a strong, resilient Moldova and prepared for the future,’’ Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun said.
The Moldovan president’s adviser in the education and research sector, Valentina Chicu, also congratulated the researchers. She said that the society appreciated the importance and value of the researchers’ work and their role was growing day after day.
The Gala of Researchers is a new initiative of the Education and Research Ministry, meant to create a tradition of the recognition of the excellence in research.
