Healthcare workers to get higher salaries

Chisinau, Dec. 19 /MOLDPRES/ - Starting next year, the salaries of medical staff will be increased by 15 percent. MPs voted today the budget of mandatory health insurance funds for 2025 in the second reading.

The document sees both revenues and expenditures in the amount of about 17.39 billion lei, registering an increase of 12.8 percent compared to the previous year.

The document specifies that some 17.1 billion lei will be allocated to the basic fund to pay for medical and pharmaceutical services. 8.6 billion lei will be allocated for hospital care and 3.4 billion lei for primary health care.

About 1.6 billion lei is earmarked for specialized outpatient medical care, more than 1.5 billion lei is planned for urgent pre-hospital medical services, and about 423 million lei for high-performance services.
