Moldovan PM has meeting with producers of renewable energy

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean today had a meeting with representatives of the Association of Producers of wind and photovoltaic electric energy from Moldova. The interlocutors discussed the cooperation between the authorities and the producers, in order to turn to good account the potential they had, in the context of the eventual crises dealing with the delivery of natural gas, the government’s communication department has reported.
The PM appreciated the producers’ commitment to make investments in renewable energy, noting that the government would continue backing the entrepreneurs from this sector, including the investments in electrification.
„The government will encourage, in continuation, the development of the renewable energy sector and the investments in systems of storing for balancing. We provided compensations to the citizens and we are looking for solutions to provide also compensations to the industry and to support projects on subsidization of investments,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.
The dialogue was focused on the present context of the emergency state, established starting from 16 December for a period of 60 days and the measures through which the renewable energy producers will contribute to the supply of the energy needs.
One of the subjects was the establishment of a clear-cut mechanism of forming the purchasing price on the domestic market of the renewable market from producers. ‘’It is important for you to have predictability on the local market as well,’’ the prime minister also said.
For their part, the Association members assured that they would stay actively involved, in order to identify efficient ways of integrating the native producers into the free market of electric energy from renewable sources in the process of remedying the current situation.
Association of Producers of wind and photovoltaic electric energy from Moldova has 32 members, with an overall set production capacity of over 124 MW.
