Crisis cell for emergency management starts work at government today

Chisinau, Dec. 26 /MOLDPRES/- Crisis cell, which will ensure efficient management of possible emergency situations starts working at the government today.
The decision was announced in the context of ensuring the security of citizens during the winter holidays, as well as to manage possible outages in electricity supply.
The Interior Ministry will boost patrols on public routes at festive events and manage road traffic in crowded areas. At the same time, the use of fireworks will be monitored and the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations will be responsible for preventing fires and other situations that could jeopardize citizens' safety.
At the same time, the Border Police will work with authorities in neighboring countries to manage the flow of travelers and increase the capacity of teams at border crossing points.
The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure will be responsible for the complete preparation of the road infrastructure, road cleaning and maintenance.
Another measure is to provide support to diaspora citizens for the emergency issuance of documents, as well as the necessary support to people in need and people with disabilities. The National Agency for Food Safety will also be responsible for ensuring product quality control.
A state of emergency has been set up in Moldova since 16 December.
