Chisinau, Dec. 27 /MOLDPRES/- The construction of buildings near electricity grids will be banned. The regulation on the matter was published in the Official Journal today.
The new regulation provides clear limitations for land use in near electricity grids and bans the construction of residential and non-residential buildings in these critical areas to prevent accidents and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply.
The measure is necessary in the context of the expansion and modernization of our country's energy infrastructure, including major interconnection projects with Romania's power system, such as Vulcanesti-Chisinau high-voltage power line.
Statistics show that in the Republic of Moldova, the transmission electricity networks comprise about 6,228 km of power lines, and the distribution electricity networks total about 56,850 km of lines, located both on public and private land.
