Moldovan president after attack on Donald Trump: Political violence has no place in our societies

Chisinau, July 14 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu has reacted to the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump. Maia Sandu said "political violence has no place in our societies."

The head of state wished the former US president a speedy recovery and sent condolences to the friends and family of the murdered man.

"I am deeply concerned about the shooting at former President Trump's campaign event. Political violence has no place in our societies. I wish Donald Trump a speedy recovery. I send my condolences to the friends and family of the rally attendee killed in the attack," the message reads.

Donald Trump was the victim of an assassination attempt. The former president was at a campaign rally in the state of Pennsylvania and had been starting his speech for a few minutes when gunshots rang out. From a building less than 100 meters from the stage, an individual fired a high-powered rifle at the former president. Donald Trump was hit only in the ear, but one spectator in the audience was killed and two others were wounded.

According to first information, the attacker is a young man from Pennsylvania, who was killed by law enforcement.
