Government builds // Project to rebuild bridge over Raut to be completed by late 2024

Chisinau, July 15 /MOLDPRES/-  Reconstruction of the bridge over the Raut River, located on the national road R12 R8-Dondușeni-Drochia-Pelinia-M5, km 59.960 is underway. 

The physical progress of the works is 65%.

The reconstruction works started this April. The bridge over the Răut river, located at km 59+960, ensures the continuity of the national road R12 over the Râut river, in the Dondușeni-Drochia-Pelinia direction. The bridge was put into operation in the early 1970s and has never undergone any repair works. The bridge has a length of 62.73 m.

"The overall objective of the project is to restore the functional properties of the bridge to ensure safe and comfortable road traffic. In this context, it is planned to install new girders with a length of 16.76 meters and to carry out all the necessary elements for the proper functioning of the bridge," the State Road Administration said.

The works have a contractual value of about 24 million lei, money allocated from the Road Fund. The execution term of the works is until the end of December 2024.

The reconstruction of this bridge will bring significant benefits to the residents of the area by providing them with a safe and reliable transportation route. The Government's support for the project underlines the importance attached to the development of road infrastructure for the benefit of our citizens. "We are committed to completing the works on schedule and to the highest standards of safety and sustainability," ASD said.
