Moldovan electoral body signals indexes of organized carriage of citizens by land, by air to polling stations in Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Turkey

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) informs about the existence of reasonable indexes of organized transportation by land and air to polling stations from Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Turkey. Also, infringements are signaled on the territory of Moldova too.   

In the context, CEC calls on the citizens to notify at the 112 phone number the cases of organized transportation of voters to polling stations.    

„Taking into account that the information space is invaded by data and pictures on organized carriage of voters, both at the polling stations from abroad and on the national territory, CEC along with the national authorities call on the citizens to notify the single national emergency service, if they have information on such infringements,’’ CEC said.  

The Commission said that the electoral civil servants had been trained to fix and document all cases of infringement of the electoral legislation. ‘’CEC cooperates with the competent bodies. The cases will be analyzed to establish all circumstances,’’ the institution informed.  

The authorities reiterated that the organized transportation of voters to polling station on the election day, on the purpose of prompting them to exercise the electoral bodies, was sanctioned with fine worth from 3,000 to 6,000 lei for private people and from 9,000 to 15,000 lei for legal entities, with or without the deprivation of the right to carry out a certain activity from a period of six months to one year.
