Polling stations closed in Moldova. President Maia Sandu thanks citizens for participation in voting

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - The presidential elections have ended on the territory of Moldova; yet, they continue abroad. All polling stations from Moldova closed. President Maia Sandu thanked the voters for the participation in the ballot.
President Maia Sandu thanked the voters from Moldova and those from abroad. At the same time, Maia Sandu urged the Moldovans from abroad to go to vote. ‘’The polling stations closed all over the country. I thank all people who participated in the voting in all settlements of the country. I thank especially the Chisinau residents who participated in the voting today in a large number; I want to thank the young people who established a record of participation in the voting today; I thank the citizens from abroad, who proved an exceptional mobilization. The voting process continues in many polling stations from abroad. I urge you to go to vote - all those who have not managed to do. I want to thank Mr. Constantin Cojocari, who at the age of 105 years went to Chisinau from the native settlement to vote,’’ Maia Sandu said.
The Moldovan president called on the employees from the polling stations to count the votes attentively. ‘’I call on the employees from all polling stations, no matter the candidate they represent, to be attentive and attentively count the citizens’ votes. Thank you,’’ Maia Sandu said.
The runoff presidential elections are held in Moldova on 3 November. The current President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, backed by the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and the candidate of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Alexandr Stoianoglo, fight for the office of head of state.
